How Can I Become a Church Planter?
You need to be assessed to see if you are a good fit for church planting. The purpose of the assessment is not to give you a "Pass" or "Fail," but to draw out your God-given strengths and areas for growth. Many church planters view the assessment process as an affirming time... as a confirmation of their call to church planting. The pre-assessment process includes the following: - The candidate is given a personality test (PDP) to look for general traits that characterize successful church planters.
- The candidate completes a Church Planting Application and signs the NAB Statement of Faith and Code of Ministerial Ethics.
- The candidate (if married, the couple) takes the Counselaid inventory, a psychological test.
- References are checked.
- After successfully completing the pre-assessment process, you will be sent by NAB to an Assessment Center.
We provide NAB church planters with a strong support system: - Training Center - There is a one-time, weeklong training dealing with the various aspects of church planting.
- Church Planter's Summit - This is an annual event that lasts several days. It includes skill training, time for spiritual renewal, and an opportunity to network with other church planters. Most of all, this event gives church planters some much-needed time of relaxation and fellowship.
- Coaching - Each church planter will have a trained coach. The coach will meet regularly with the planter for coaching.
