Each year in November, NAB pastors (and spouses) from Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia gather in Banff, AB, for an outstanding time worship, inspiration and rest. This event is a great opportunity to build relationships with pastoral colleagues from the NAB family across western Canada. Those who attend can anticipate finding encouragement and renewal while enjoying the beauty of God’s creation amid the wonder of Banff National Park.

2024 NAB Banff Pastors Conference

Theme: JESUS, MORE THAN ENOUGH

Focusing on the wonders of Jesus and his companionship with us through the thick and thin, and the ups and downs, of life and service.  We will look at different episodes that various people in the Gospels had with Jesus and what we can learn from that for our own circumstances; how he stands with us and holds us with hands of steel, wrapped in velvet.  We aim to lead people to Jesus so He can bring His mysterious comfort, encouragement, healing, and refreshing to our clergy family.

Conference Speakers:

Brent and Mandy Trask

We are pleased to welcome Brent and Mandy to our Pastors Conference. Their ministry and care have been a blessing to many clergy gatherings and we are looking forward to having them with us this year.

Brent and Mandy have been serving in Alberta since 1984; one year pastoring at Southgate Alliance (Edmonton), 25 years at RockPointe Church (Calgary), 12 years in denominational leadership with Alliance Churches (Alberta/NWT), and this year Brent joined the executive leadership team at The Mustard Seed – a Christian mission in Sask/AB/BC focused on bringing hope to those experiencing poverty and homelessness.

Mandy felt called to ministry in her late teens and attended Canadian Bible College (BTh) in Regina, where she and Brent met, fell in love, graduated, moved to Toronto for Brent to go to seminary, married…and then moved to Calgary as church planters in 1985.  In the ensuing years, God grew a passion in Mandy for worship, women's ministry, Bible teaching, global ministry, outreach to New Canadians, spiritual formation, prayer, and bringing lift and encouragement to those around her. She has found much joy serving in those areas—speaking/teaching and engaging people to experience God’s presence and draw closer to Him. Mandy worked for many years as a preschool music teacher for a children's center called Gymboree and loved interacting with the little ones and their parents. Mandy also loves reading, travel, a good vanilla latte, as well as creating experiences, memories, and fun together as a family!

Brent’s whole journey in Christ and ministry has been guided and inspired by women and men modelling humility, godliness, servant leadership, rich devotional lives, and the pursuit of wisdom.  He is relational and sentimental, but also industrious and future.
