Since 2019, many of us across the Alberta Baptist Association have been praying and discerning whether our Lord might beinviting us to re-establish a clear discipleship pathway for young adults in our province.
Again and again, we have heard a consistent “yes.” The hunger is real. The need is evident.
The ABA Leadership Council has affirmed this as a priority for our shared future. While COVID and ongoing discussions surrounding location slowed ourprogress, they did not diminish our conviction.
We are now preparing to launch a gap year initiative in Fall 2026.
In the coming weeks, ABA leaders will be travelling throughout Alberta, hosting the ABA Spring Renew gatherings.
At these events, we will share where things stand — including our launch timeline, the hiring of an Interim Director, and the location where the program will begin.
However, along with sharing exciting news, we want to listen.
While we move into a ‘beta’ year, we are intentionally seeking one final round of input from pastors, youth leaders, parents, students and young adults. As we want this initiative to serve our churches well, we need our churches ‘at the table’. Your wisdom and perspective matter deeply.
ReNew is not only an equipping opportunity. It is a shared moment of discernment.
If you care about the formation of young adults in Alberta, we so value your presence and your voice!
For these ReNew events, please also invite youth and their parents.
Evening Schedule: The complimentary meal will begin at 5:45 pm. The interactive sessions will begin at 6:30 pm and the evening will conclude by 8:30 pm.
