Terry and Matt are very excited and blessed to be travelling with Merv Budd, part of the North American Baptist Missional Initiatives Team, whose passion and expertise is all about "Equipping For Evangelism".
Merv Budd has served as Sr. Pastor at North Burlington Baptist Church in Ontario for the last 23 years. He recently graduated from McMaster Divinity College with his Doctorate of Practical Theology in the area of evangelistic equipping. He is long-term, valued member of the NAB Missional Initiatives Team. Merv is married, since 1991, to Lisa and has two grown and married children and one grandson.
During our time together, Merv will help us sort through how 'evangelism' relates with "joining God on mission".
Session 1 - Becoming Evangelistic People
We will look at four gifts we can give to those who are not yet Christians, which they will gladly receive and which will serve as catalysts for their faith development.
Session 2 - Becoming Evangelistic Congregations
It seems that many congregations have an uncomfortable relationship with evangelism. In this session we will attempt to undo some of that discomfort.
All of us, as ReNew participants can anticipate 'taking home' some suggested tools/resources...
for being evangelists in the context of our personal lives
for re-envisioning evangelism in and through our local church
We can help each other, learn from each other and become stronger in the effort to advance the kingdom of God in Alberta and the world.
